Radon Explorer aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on this website.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML with a single main landmark, one h1, and an ordered heading hierarchy.
- A skip-to-content link and full keyboard operation, including the booking panel, which traps focus while open and closes with Escape.
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Form labels tied to inputs, inline error messages, an error summary that receives focus, and status messages announced politely.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, empty alt text for decorative layers, and a text version of the animated radon story for screen-reader users.
- Support for
prefers-reduced-motion, plus an on-screen “Motion” control that stops the camera movement and particles at any time. All educational content stays available when motion is off. - No flashing effects, and no information conveyed by color alone: every band on the radon scale is also labelled in text.
- Body text at 16px or larger and touch targets at least 44×44 pixels.
Known limitations
The scroll-driven cross-section is decorative. It is hidden from assistive technology, and the same information is provided in text. If you find any barrier, we want to hear about it.
Feedback
Use the booking form on the home page or email business@radonexplorer.com. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
